      The Call of the Ocean

Original Underwater Art for Homes and Office Interiors by Andrea Dell

The Call of the Ocean - Original Underwater Art by Andrea Dell Art

Escape the everyday and immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the deep. For those who find solace in the ocean's depths and inspiration in its boundless mystery, my original underwater art offers a unique portal to a world of calm and creativity.

Hello, I'm Andrea Dell. As a Formby, Liverpool based artist, I specialise in creating abstract alcohol ink art. Living by the ever-changing shores of North West England, I find endless inspiration in the rhythm of the tides and the vibrant energy of the coastal landscape, as well as the tranquil wonders of the seas around the world. Common feedback is that each work is more than just a painting too and a conversation starter, and personally for me, each is a focal point, and a daily invitation to pause, breathe, and reconnect with nature.

Each piece of my ‘underwater ocean art’ series is a journey, crafted with luminous blues and corals on high-quality synthetic paper. Using fluid art techniques, I allow the ink to ripple like currents, creating a vibrant, dreamlike seascape that is truly one-of-a-kind. Alcohol ink is more than just a medium to me; it's a dance of pigment and flow, mirroring the unpredictable beauty of nature. The way colours merge and move helps me create unique, dynamic pieces that truly come alive.

My goal is to capture those fleeting moments of beauty or emotion, transforming them into expressive original art that brings a sense of calm, vibrancy and soul to your home or commercial space.

Why My Art is Different: A Deep Dive into the Detail

My process is a blend of controlled fluidity and meticulous detail. I begin with vibrant ink washes that form the foundation of an imagined underwater world. Then, using an acrylic pen, I add intricate linework and hand-drawn motifs—like graceful drifting jellyfish art, delicate anemones, and swirling coral forms.

      • Unique and Original: Each artwork is a one-off, handcrafted piece. You won’t find mass-produced prints here—only original art with a story.

      • Sensory Experience: The combination of textures and colours creates a visual and emotional experience, evoking the meditative stillness of an underwater world.

      • Quality Media and Materials: Each is created on durable premium synthetic paper, which ensures that the vibrant colours of the alcohol ink and acrylic paint and intricate details will last for years to come. These are then fixed with a specialist matt finish varnish sealant.

      • Versatile Decor: Perfect for creating a stunning gallery wall or a single, impactful statement piece in your living room, bedroom, or home or corporate office.

Whether you are looking for a piece of coastal home decor to complete your space or an art collector gift for someone special, this collection has something to enchant every art lover.

A: I use high-quality alcohol inks, metallic inks, and acrylic pens on durable premium synthetic paper, allowing for vibrant colours and intricate detail.

Q: Are these paintings originals or prints?

A: I create original alcohol ink paintings only, meaning each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art.

I also create jewellery and small artisan gifts using similar processes.

Q: How do I care for my new artwork?
